Energy-saving electronic fluorescent lamps, also known as Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs), use significantly less energy and last much longer than traditional incandescent bulbs. They operate using a compact electronic ballast within the base, which has largely eliminated the flickering and humming issues of older models.
