A traditional Filipino condiment consisting of salted and fermented tiny shrimp (Acetes spp.). This “salted” version is the raw/preserved form of the fry, used primarily as a flavor base for authentic dishes like Binagoongan or Kare-Kare. It has a sharp, salinic aroma and a concentrated umami taste.
